Nine passengers were killed in a tragic incident in a targeted attack on a passenger bus on the Gwadar-Turbat highway in Pakistan's restive Balochistan province. Authorities have confirmed that Baloch separatist militants were behind the ambush, calling it is a terrorist attack.

A passenger bus traveling from Turbat to Gwadar was stopped late Wednesday night by a group heavily armed insurgents, believed to be members of the banned separatist group, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). The attackers forced the bus to stop, verified the identities of passengers, and opened fire indiscriminately.
The attackers fled the scene before law enforcement agencies arrived. The bodies of the victims were later shifted to Gawadar Civil Hospital, While security forces launched a search operation in the surrounding mountainous areas.
Authorities identify insurgents:
After the attack, intelligence sources and local authorities identify the group behind the massacre as a BLA faction operating in the Makran Division. The same group has been involved in previous anti state activities, included targeted Chinese citizens and infrastructure projects linked to the China and Pakistan economic corridor.
Government Response:
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack, it a war against the people of Pakistan.
He added:
"We will not rest until every terrorist involved in this brutal murder is brought to justice. Such cowardly acts cannot detail our resolve for peace and development in Balochistan"
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also issued a statement expressing regret and promising a strong response.

The latest attack has spread fear among locals and travelers who often use the Gawadar-Turbat route. Transport services were temporarily suspended, and several checkpoints have been setup to increase surveillance.
