Several people dead and many injured in multi-storey building collapses.


In a heartbreaking incident, a multi-storey residential building collapsed in Karachi Pakistan, killing several people and injuring many more who were buried under the rubble.

The building, located in a densely populated neighborhood in Liyari Karachi, reportedly collapsed in the early hours of the morning while most residents were still inside. Witnesses described a loud commotion followed by a cloud of dust, with people screaming for help as concrete and metal fell from the collapse.


Rescue teams, including the Pakistan Army, emergency services and volunteers, reached the scene and launched search and rescue operations. Heavy machinery was brought in to remove the debris, while rescue workers worked tirelessly to reach survivors trapped under the rubble.


Death toll rises


At least 13 people have been confirmed dead and more than two dozen injured, according to hospital and rescue officials. Authorities fear the death toll could rise as more bodies are being recovered from collapsed structures.

Tragically, the victims include children and senior citizens. Many families had been living in the building for years, unaware of the structural dangers. The survivors are being treated at nearby hospitals, some of whom are said to be in critical condition.


Cause under investigation


Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the collapse. Initial reports suggest that the building was constructed illegally or had structural defects that had been ignored for years.
